ABAT Hits Key Milestone for Major US Lithium Project

Completion of two-year NEPA studies de-risks one of America's largest known lithium deposits, advancing federal permitting.

American Battery Technology Company (NASDAQ: ABAT) has reached a critical milestone in its quest to develop a major domestic source of lithium, announcing the completion of all required environmental baseline studies for its Tonopah Flats Lithium Project in Nevada.

The company confirmed it has submitted the extensive reports to the U.S. Bureau of Land Management, concluding a significant phase of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) review process. This step, which involved , is crucial for predicting the mine's potential impacts and is a prerequisite for federal permitting of what is considered one of the largest known lithium deposits in the United States.

The successful completion of these 21 baseline studies substantially de-risks the project's development timeline. The Tonopah Flats project has been designated a "Covered Priority Project" under the FAST-41 federal program, which is designed to for critical infrastructure projects, signaling strong governmental support for establishing a domestic battery metals supply chain.

This regulatory progress comes amid a period of strong momentum for ABAT. The company recently reported a 1,149% surge in full-year revenue for fiscal 2025 and has secured significant government backing, including a $144 million grant from the Department of Energy for a second recycling plant. This news has fueled a remarkable run for its stock, which has as the company executes on its strategy.

Located in central Nevada, the Tonopah Flats project spans over 10,000 acres and holds an inferred resource of more than 21 million tons of lithium hydroxide monohydrate.
